Morning Prayers

This morning I woke up at 4 am and read today’s Catholic prayers and readings for today in the Divine Office app. Thought a lot about all that I read. Today, there was a reading from a sermon of St. Augustine, Bishop. It was about how sometimes shepherds do not strengthen the weak sheep. I think that is sometimes the situation of this life and not intentional. I think that Jesus binds what is broken in those sheep, at some point so all hope is not lost.

I found a lot of consolation in:

God is faithful. He does not allow you to be tempted beyond your strength, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

My escape is focusing on the Glory Be prayer because it consoles me when I worry about the state of the world. I also have my daughters, who are now grown, in whom I find great joy and love.

Chores

I had a lot of chores this morning. I’ve eaten fast food for the past two days because I haven’t been well enough to cook. The kitchen was a mess despite so I cleaned it and the refrigerator as there is always something brewing in there from leftovers.

Therapy

I’m working through a workbook on my Kindle that aims to help me make peace with my body as it pertains to my Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder responses when I feel wounded or threatened.

The workbook is called, The Embodied Healing Workbook: The Art and Science of Befriending Your Body in Trauma Recovery by Catherine Cook-Cottone, PhD, C-IAYT. You can find it on Amazon if you are interested. I’m not an affiliate and do not earn any money by referring you.

Conclusion

I hope to have a good day despite my inner world being noisy and intrusive. I do think I am on the path to recovery and for that I’m grateful. I hope to keep improving so that I can get back to my goals, which I will share in my next post.

Thank you for reading, and I hope you have many blessings this Sunday.
