The Choice

I haven’t been well for a while. That’s the thing with mental illness. It is difficult to make goals that stick. I have decided that I cannot plan to write daily, or even weekly, consistently. Sometimes I can’t do the things I’d like to do, and while that is upsetting, I feel it requires resilience to pick up where one has left off….

In the case of this blog, I decided to start fresh. I deleted my old posts and updated my Goals and About pages. I feel like I needed a clean break from the last season of my life.

Physically, I haven’t been exercising or eating right so I am recommitting to more of a scheduled routine. This morning, I took a 2.64 mile walk to a local park that has a pond as I like to be near water.

As I mentioned on the About page, sometimes my inner world takes precedence and I have to work through things. This time was no different, but I think, in a way, it was more healing than my past experiences.

I believe our suffering is how we learn and grow to become better people. So, I try to view my episodes that way.

In this particular experience, I had a choice to make. At first, I was afraid because I was afraid of feeling forever corrupt and like I was destined to be trapped in such a loop of torment forever.

As it turns out, choosing love and to wait in darkness (instead of inner sight) was the answer, and with it came great peace and hope for the future.

So, from this point forward, I hope to be more stable and share little experiences about my simple life.

Thank you for following, and I hope you find blessings in all your experiences.
