Perfect Morning
This morning was the perfect morning. My youngest daughter and I went over to my oldest daughter’s house after picking up some Starbucks treats. I haven’t had Starbucks in like 6 months. Got my usual Americano black venti, and a banana nut loaf. I’ve probably exceeded today’s caloric intake from that and my breakfast so I will need to burn that off.
At my daughter’s house, we organised all of the baby clothes and supplies she received from her baby shower. She is all set, and I feel grateful that my grandbaby is starting out so well. I remember how sparse my children had it when they were little. It’s really shocking how little we had in comparison, but I think the girls turned out great despite.
Being a mom is the best thing that ever happened to me. I was worried I wouldn’t be good at it, but it turns out, you just need to love your kids for who they are, who they become and be as present as you can when possible.
In my past life, when I attempted to understand my experiences, I studied tarot. 3 of Cups always represented me and the girls so I was happy whenever I’d get it. It’s about celebration and being full of blessings and love together.
I like symbolism. It’s important for me to understand symbolism in how I interpret my experiences in life. I don’t use tarot anymore, but recently, I had an experience that was like The Lovers card, which was originally called, The Choice.
I might write more on that later.
For the first time in a long while, I enjoyed being with the girls. I wasn’t lost in my head and troubled. I was relaxed and enjoyed their energy. Mental illness can be a challenge when one is also a parent, even if kids are grown. My daughters are wonderful, soft, and understanding and I’m grateful for them.
Seasonal Cleaning
My robot has been offline for two weeks after dying on the leg of my standing desk so I need to clean it and get it charged up. It’s dusty in here. I got my robot for $50 on a Walmart Black Friday sale-well, the day after. I was having tires installed on the Fiat and was roaming around and discovered it. It’s a truly great little machine. Love it. But it does die in weird places. It reminds me of a kid you have to supervise and take care of. And it has a little personality with each bump around the apartment.
I’ve been without Concerta (Ritalin) for about 4 weeks and I am feeling ok. I was worried I would be depressed. I went off it since I’m weaning off one antidepressant and starting another-antidepressants can sometimes spark mania in Bipolar 1 folks like me. My energy is pretty good today so I’m going to get a lot of cleaning done. Lately, I’ve been easily fatigued. Not having that bump to keep me going, or able to concentrate, has been a challenge. But, I do hope this surge of energy doesn’t snowball into mania. I really don’t want to go through that again this year.
Today, I’ll dust, clean the floors, vacuum my room, dust my desk and electronics. Stuff like that. I really need to do laundry but that will have to wait until tomorrow. Doing laundry here is complicated as I carry my stuff over to another building to use their machines that are cleaner than the ones in my building. It’s a workout.
I’m going to put out my black kitty wreath today and I hope my daughter will put up her seasonal leaf garlands. I like those.
Well, I have awesome music pumping through my Bose headphones and am ready to get to work.
Thank you for sharing in this little moment. I hope you have a day of energy and joy.
