Rocky & Contentment (Hearts on Fire)

Rocky

This morning, my YouTube algorithm brought up a lot of Rocky montages. I was surprised as I haven’t watched them in a long time.

I was going to post one and then thought about my post on Lust the other day. So, I deleted it. I realised it could be taken the wrong way.

When I was a kid, I thought Rocky was beautiful like a statue. One doesn’t lust after statues.

I like Rocky because he is not a typical fighter and he had to learn the ropes. He had to learn to properly fight and he overcame his mental and physical obstacles.

I really need to work out hard but I think I’ll be too busy cleaning and I have errands to run this afternoon. Maybe sometime this weekend, I can ride my spin bike for a challenging ride. I feel like I need to really sweat.

Aside: My weight is beginning to drop and I’m happy because my latest labs show I have high cholesterol and metabolic syndrome from antipsychotic medication. As I don’t want to take more medications, I want to improve my body composition through diet and exercise.

So far, I’ve managed to get one difficult chore done and I still need to clean the fish tank but I don’t know if I will have time before running errands with my family.

Contentment

I’ve been thinking about my inner world challenges this morning. I realise sometimes we don’t get what we want in life. And sometimes what we want is not actually the best thing for us. And, I also thought about if I really want what I think I want.

The answer: I’m content as I am. Being single is a great gift in that it allows me time with my family, to work on my projects, and to work on my inner world and overall progress in recovery.

Well, back to my chores. Still more to do.

But before I go, a great Rocky montage to awaken your inner fighter…
