This morning I woke up and got research done for the maternal psychosis book, chapter one. It feels good to get work done so early in the morning. After this, I’ll take my 12-year-old chihuahua, Gumbo, out to potty and then feed him and the fish. Better add taking out the garbage too. Habit stacking is a great way to get things done if you haven’t tried it out.
For the past few months, I’ve been reading The Complete Collection of Stoicism Collection with texts included by Marcus Aurelius, Seneca, and Epictetus. Currently, I’m halfway through Seneca’s letters to Lucilius. Took a little break from stoicism as it can be dire and intense, especially, when one is not feeling so great mentally.
To lighten things up, I downloaded A High Performing Mind by Drew Thompson. It’s a pretty easy read. I already do many of the suggested tactics, but that comes from living a life of many challenges. I wouldn’t say my mind is high performing though. Rather, I’d say it’s a getting by performing mind. As I’m about 40% through the book, I hope to learn some new skills that will hopefully help me improve my mental performance.
I’ve been getting very exhausted for the past several days. I’m hoping I will have more energy today. I have two appointments scheduled so today will be busy. I’m ready to get through the hardest parts of the day so I can relax at the end!
Well, I’m going to do the aforementioned chores and read about 10 pages of Thompson’s book.
I’m still mulling starting a modified 75 Day Hard program to challenge me and speed up my weight loss and fitness goals. I’ve lost 17 pounds so far but I have more to go. When I get that finalised in my head, I’ll share it here.
Got to get going on today’s tasks. I hope your day is a good one with a satisfactory mix of tasks and moments of relaxation.
