Productivity During the Freeze

Productivity & Weather

Productivity

This morning, I woke up and was determined not to watch YouTube videos for two uninterrupted hours. I love YouTube. Never really watched online videos until recently, and now I spend most of the day watching some kind of content on my television YouTube app. I especially enjoy videos about other people’s lives, learning, reading, self-development, and productivity. I’m not as interested in gossip, or British Royal Family, commentary as much as I once was; a lot of it feels toxic.

To get the blood pumping, I cleaned the kitchen and made some chai. Made some oatmeal. Soaked some beans that I’m about to put into my Instant Pot, and I’m going to make some brown rice and whole wheat bread.

Spent time researching the definition of recovery in maternal psychosis for the book I’m working on. Set up my note system for the research and found an APA source to cite my references so that I can save them in the proper format.

Weather

It was -3 degrees outside this morning. Gumbo, my elderly chihuahua, pooped in record time. I tried to wait until it was much warmer outside but he wasn’t having it. He licked my face and was telling me that it was time to go—so we went outside. Gumbo has since been snuggling with my daughter as he is traumatised by this morning’s chill.

We do not have very much snow where I’m at in Northern Colorado due to the snow drought and weather patterns that seem to form a donut hole above our area on the arctic chill map.

Concluding Thoughts

This morning, I read chapter two of a self-help book about how to do things you hate by tricking yourself into doing them. Really, it talked about procrastination and how we can build things up in our minds and the energy to start the task seems too great to get started. I think reading that helped this morning with my research. I was trying to research maternal psychosis recovery and outcome definitions but then realised I need to settle on just researching maternal recovery today. That worked out brilliantly!

I’m having some physical pain and discomfort due to a condition. Yesterday, I didn’t exercise due to that pain and discomfort, but I think I will find ways to do a modified workout plan for today. I want to move around and stretch as I feel too wound up.

Thank you for reading and following. I hope you are staying warm despite the arctic blast chilling most of the U.S. this weekend.
