2026 New Year’s Resolutions

Planning a Healthier 2026

2025 has not been my healthiest year. In fact, it was a very stressful and eventful year, and I’m glad it is coming to a close.

Alcohol

In 2026, I want to do some things differently. Starting with: no alcohol. I was never a frequent drinker, but alcohol has not been good for me on several occasions. I don’t see a reason to continue an occasional drink in 2026. Watching my dad live with alcohol related brain injury (dementia) has put things into perspective. He is only 20 years older than I am, and it’s an entirely avoidable condition. As you age, alcohol is more destructive to your body and brain so there really isn’t a good reason to keep drinking. Definitely leaving alcohol behind in 2026.

Not continue to form romantic attachments to any of the following. Alcoholics, workaholics, commitment phobics, peeping toms, megamaniacs, emotional fuckwith, or perverts. And especially will not fantasize about a particular person who embodies all these things.

Healthy Diet & Consumerism

In 2026, I pretty much want to eliminate eating out as much as possible. After our latest order from Popeye’s, I was looking at all of the packaging and thinking about how trashed our world is from fast food. I felt sad about it all.

Instead, I want to make meals at home and only eat out in a restaurant so as to avoid unnecessary packaging waste.

I also want to buy all of my clothing second hand and reduce my consumption through controlled spending and paying off debts.

2026 Goals

I don’t know if I would call these goals resolutions, but perhaps they are. In 2026, I want to avoid alcohol, unhealthy relationships, eat less fast food, be kinder to the earth, and pay my debts.
