Apps for 2026 & January Reading List

Living Writer & Zinnia

I’m in the process of planning an eBook that I want to sell on Amazon. In the past, I have used Scrivener to keep up with book planning, notes, and research. But, I never really loved the software. After a brief web search on new writing applications, I discovered Living Writer.

You don’t have to download Living Writer and store it on your hard drive like Scrivener. Living Writer is cloud-based and is simple to use. I’m grateful to find this app. My main hurdles to completing projects are organisation and formatting. I like to be organised, and I don’t want to deal with formatting rules. Instead, I want to focus on content.

Recently, I tried to create a journal/planner for sale on Amazon. After working long hours, I threw in the towel. I’m not a graphic designer, and the Zinnia app has easy templates to use. I can even make junk journals without worrying about design and formatting. If you are looking for planner/journal options for 2026, Zinnia is a good choice.

I do not have a discount code available for these applications, and I am not an affiliate. I just want to share helpful apps that make creating easier.

January Reading List

Last year, I set the goal to read 25 books in 2025. Well, I read about 15 books. This year, I’m not interested in reaching a specific count, but I do want to interact more with the books that I read. I don’t want to read a book and then mindlessly move on to the next book without sharing thoughts or feelings about what I’ve read.

So, in 2026, I’ll include my monthly reading lists and thoughts about the books I’m reading. I wouldn’t say I plan to review every book I read, but rather, I just want to share my thoughts in a way that helps readers find their next book-or consider topics in a new way.

Below are two books that I’m starting on today. More on them later.

Concluding Thoughts

I hope I was able to share some applications that will help you plan and prepare for 2026. What are some books you’re reading at the moment?
